IPA UK Event: Region Scotland – Mini Friendship Weekend

1 Region Scotland – West Branch – Mini Friendship Weekend

As part of Scotland’s tribute to the 70th anniversary of the Association the West Branch propose to hold a mini Friendship Weekend in conjunction with it’s National Patron Saint Day – St.Andrew.  The proposed weekend will consist of 2 nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast a guided bus tour round the South West of Scotland and a Gala Dinner Dance featuring local traditional entertainers. The dates are Friday 27th November – Sunday 29th November 2020.

The Branch are looking at two possible venues both are 3-4 star quality.  To date these have not been confirmed but status will be updated as soon as possible along with cost and additional information.

5 Region – LINCOLNSHIRE – Friendship Weekend

International Police Association Lincolnshire Branch, Region 5 FRIENDSHIP WEEKEND 5th – 8th June 2020

2020 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of this great organisation by Sergeant Arthur Troop from Lincolnshire and the founding branch are very proud to be hosting the 2020 National Council Meeting (NCM) in the historic city of Lincoln.

To run alongside the NCM the Lincolnshire branch of the IPA are considering hosting a friendship weekend. Planning is in the early stages and so we would appreciate expressions of interest by 31st July 2019 if you would consider attending this weekend. Lincoln is a fascinating, diverse city to visit, it is an ideal destination for a city break: offering an experience rich in history combined with independent boutique shopping, great arts and culture and a wealth of places to eat and drink. PROPOSED EVENTS: Friday An opportunity to visit Doddington Hall and Gardens, an English stately home to include a guided tour of the house and gardens.

Saturday Tours of Lincoln Castle and Cathedral to include a buffet lunch at the Lincoln Hotel followed by free time to discover historic uphill Lincoln.

Sunday A trip to the seaside! Tour of the historic Skegness Court House which will be dedicated as the ‘Arthur Troop’ Building. An exhibition of Lincolnshire Police history and an opportunity to meet operational police officers and staff who work in different areas of modern day policing. Free time to stroll along the seafront and have some fish ‘n’ chips or an ice cream or both! On the way back there may be an opportunity to stop off at Batemans Brewery for a tour and a taste of local ales.

The accommodation for this weekend will be at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotels, Brayford Wharf North, Lincoln, LN1 1YW where the NCM is also to be held. We have reserved some rooms here.

We are also looking at accommodation at The Lincoln Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western, Eastgate, Lincoln, LN2 1PN

IPA Membership Card Template 2020 – Updated Version

The difference to the previous version is that the 2020 is more defined with the contrast improved.
